Horsham Health Walks February 2018

All welcome to guided, free, sociable, HDC walks led by trained volunteers; no need to book, just turn-up at the start point. A booklet containing over 250 walks is available from the Walks Co-ordinator on 07720 714306 or online at www.horshamhealthwalks.co.uk Beginners are recommended to contact the Walk Leader: to discuss suitability. All walks can be wet and muddy in places. Forthcoming walks in the Shermanbury Parish and neighbouring areas are as follows:-

(2171) Sun 4 February 9:30am: Copsale ‘Bacon Butty Walk’ Park in the Downs Link car park (approx.TQ171249), opposite the Bridge Inn / Copsale Village Hall, Bar Lane, RH13 6QT. DO NOT park at the village hall. Please join us for a country 4 mile walk, taking 1½ hours, through meadows (possibly muddy) along country lanes and the Downs Link, 2 or 3 stiles. Possibility of cattle and/or horses. Dogs welcome on leads. Copsale Village Hall offers Bacon Butties £2.50, Tea/Coffee £1 in aid of Village Hall funds 10 am – 12 pm. (1033) Wed 14 & 28 February 10:00am: Henfield Byways Meet at Henfield Library, High Street, Henfield, BN5 9HN. A lovely gentle 2/3 mile walk, taking one hour, around the twittens, ginnells and snickets of Henfield. Walk can be extended if any walkers wish to walk further. No dogs. Leader: Anne 01273 493671

 (2255) Sat 17 February 10.30am: Sedgwick Park Circular. We have had permission to park at Hillier Garden Centre, Brighton Road. (RH13 6QA) Please drive into the parking area, and drive right down to the bottom on the gravel and park there. There is a bus stop right outside the Garden centre, it is route 17 to Brighton. A lovely 6 mile walk, taking 2½ hours, along the byways and footpaths just south of Horsham We go down Kerves Lane and then across to Sedgwick Park.  Lovely views across Horsham and the south east, particularly in the winter. There will be horses and cows in the fields we cross, so please no dogs. Maybe muddy in places. The café in the Garden Centre offers tasty snacks at lunchtime. (2265) Mon 19 February 10:00 am: NEW WALK Whitemans Green, Cuckfield. Meet in the car park of Whitemans Green recreation ground (not the Rugby club), Staplefield Road (TQ301256, RH17 5HX). Heading north over the golf course the 5¼ mile walk, taking 2¼ hours, includes fields and woodland. Good views from the High Weald Landscape Trail as we walk towards Borde Hill gardens before returning via the outskirts of Cuckfield. No dogs please, as we may encounter livestock.
